TECO Energy Inc. has entered into an agreement with Continental Energy Systems LLC and its subsidiary New Mexico Gas Intermediate Inc. to acquire New Mexico Gas Co.
TECO (NYSE: TE) will purchase the company for an aggregate value of $950 million, including $200 million of New Mexico Co. debt, according to a statement.
The transaction is expected to be final in the beginning of 2014.
New Mexico Gas Co. has more than 500,000 residential customers in New Mexico, the statement said.
