HALIFAX, May 21, 2013 /CNW/ - Irving Oil today announced that Acadia University will begin receiving compressed natural gas (CNG) at its location in Wolfville, Nova Scotia this year. The University will be the first facility in the Annapolis Valley to receive compressed natural gas via truck transport.?We?re very pleased to have partnered with Acadia University and are pleased they will benefit from the potential cost savings of this leading-edge natural gas technology,? said Paul Browning, President and CEO, Irving Oil. ?Compressed natural gas provides industrial customers like Acadia University and other commercial customers in Nova Scotia a less expensive, clean-burning, high-quality fuel alternative.?
The transportation of compressed natural gas is very similar to gasoline or propane transport, and Irving Oil has safely handled and delivered energy in multiple forms to customers for decades.
